Chestnut forest The chestnut forest, near the hamlet of Castel Cerreto, is one of the few remaining forests following ancient deforestation to obtain wood and land for cultivation.
It features various species of plants with related information panels including chestnut trees. Parco del Roccolo The Roccolo seen from the main entrance The Parco del Roccolo is a natural garden of about 43,000 m² located in the south-west area of Treviglio, along Via del Bosco, dedicated to recreational and sports activities, and occasionally to liturgical celebrations.
It is also possible to make educational-naturalistic visits in the summer. The park is home to numerous species of trees, a canal crossed in several points by a series of small bridges that flows from the fountain and then flows at the foot of the picturesque little church of the Madonna degli Alpini, opened occasionally and used only for the most important liturgical celebrations.
The area is managed by the Treviglio Alpine group together with the Association of Friends of the Roccolo Park, who have arranged for the planting of plants that can become an attraction for the avian fauna through the creation of artificial nests.
These plants will cover the portions of the park still uncovered, as they were acquired from the neighboring fields. The sign that indicates the beginning of the park, along the SP141 exiting Treviglio Parco della Gera d'Adda.
This is a local park of supra-municipal interest in the process of being established which extends across a north-western portion of the municipality and subsequently extends into the neighbouring municipalities of Arcene, Canonica d'Adda, Casirate d'Adda, Ciserano, Fara Gera d'Adda and Pontirolo Nuovo.
Since 2016, the institution's boards have been chaired by Treviglio, which took over from Fara Gera d'Adda as leader.
